TOUR 1 | 9.30am: DAMAGE & REGENERATION IN THE RED GUM LANDSCAPE
This guided tour will travel North and West of Cavendish and highlight some of the losses of Red Gums in the district due to storms, fires and natural degeneration.
It will also include regeneration projects in the Mooralla and Cavendish district.
Peter Watt will share his extensive knowledge and experience on the Waratah property of both loss and successful plantings and the resultant improvements in biodiversity and production.
TOUR 2 | 1pm: BASALT PLAINS/GRASSES & SIGNIFICANT TREES
This guided tour will include visiting two significant Red Gums and a canoe tree on private properties, along with exploring local biodiversity and native grasslands.
This tour involves some walking (approx. 1km) in a paddock setting along a track.
Reasonable mobility and sturdy footwear will be required.
A donation of $5 per person would be appreciated to go towards cost of the coaches.
Clothing suitable to being outside in the weather conditions is essential for both bus tours.
The Red Gum Gallery will be open beforehand if you fancy a look before we commence.
If numbers allow, each tour will be repeated.
