Student Gallery
The Cavendish Red Gum Festival Student Gallery Is a unique opportunity for budding artists to showcase a piece based on the red gum as well as compete for a prize in each age category.
Open to all students from Kinder to Secondary School.

All submissions are to celebrate or represent the red gum in some way.
The age categories for the Student Gallery are:
- Kindergarten
- Primary
- Secondary
Students are invited to submit 1 work in both or either of the following two categories:
2d Artwork:
Students are able to enter 1 x drawing, painting, collage, print or hung 2D work.
Artwork should be mounted on thick paper/card or canvas but NOT FRAMED.-no larger than 1.2x1.2metres
Small Sculpture:-under 30cm x 30cm
Sculptures are to celebrate use or represent the red gum.
Students are able to enter 1x small sculptures or 3D piece (under 30cmx30cm)-anything larger can be entered in the “Sculpture” section of the Festival.

How to Enter
- Artists are required to submit their entry form by Friday 2nd March 2018
- Entry forms can be submitted online via this website or in person at Tops and Tails, Brown Street Hamilton or the Cavendish Primary School Office:
- Please contact us if you need a hard copy entry form or emailed form.
- Late applications may not be accepted.
- The total number of entries for students is 1 hung/2D work and one small sculpture no bigger than 30cmx30cm.
- There are three age categories.
- Kinder
- Primary
- Secondary.
- Finished works must be received at the Soldiers Memorial Hall Cavendish on Thursday 12th April 2018 between 9am and 12noon. Alternative arrangements can be made by contacting us.
Artwork Specifications:
Student works should be mounted on card, canvas or thick paper but
NOT FRAMED.
- Works offered for exhibition must have the artist’s name, age, title of work and medium marked clearly on a label affixed to the back.
- Wet paintings, unmounted works on flimsy paper may not be accepted for hanging.
- Works will be displayed on movable partitions, walls of the venue or freestanding easels. The venue is unable to provide special lighting and will not provide electricity for any works.
- Senior students (over 15) are able to submit appropriately framed works for sale in the main gallery.
